Sprint: Houston-area experiences 'voice' outage again

HOUSTON

Around 6pm, the company began experiencing a software issue that prevented customers from being able to receive phone calls. It took about 50 minutes for crews to fix the problem.

The outage comes exactly one week after customers all across the Houston area were unable to make or receive phone calls for more than four hours. On March 27, an equipment issue at one of Sprint's switches prevented customers in several markets, including the Houston area, from knowing when they were receiving calls.

No other details were immediately available.
