Daredevils rappel from 500 feet in Fresno charity event

FRESNO, Calif.

The city hosted its "Over The Edge" fundraiser. People rappelled more than 500 feet from the top of the Pacific Southwest building -- the former Security Bank building.

Each participant raised at least a thousand dollars to take the plunge. One double amputee veteran says the experience was most rewarding because the money will be used to help children.

"Here in Fresno, in Tulare County they don't have an opportunity to do that, to go to an ice rink. It's all about those kids and getting them to do something productive," said Wesley Barrientos, Veteran.

The money raised will be used to open the temporary ice rink on Fulton Mall in the winter.
