Deputies were notified at around 7:30 Tuesday night.
The incident happened near Martin Street and Road 27.
The name of the deceased is not being released.
It is believed that a blue vehicle – type not confirmed at this time -- was involved in the drive-by. Madera Police and the California Highway Patrol are assisting in the search.
Details surrounding this homicide are few at this hour due to the fact that detectives are in the very early stages of their investigation.
