1 dead 1 inured in West Central Fresno car crash

FRESNO, Calif.

The California Highway Patrol said a 17-year-old was driving a Honda Accord at a high rate of speed when he crashed into a parked truck and then a power pole.

The impact knocked the car into a second parked vehicle and then a fence. The driver died at the scene, and his 19-year-old passenger was taken to community regional medical center for treatment.

The victims' names have not yet been released, and officers are still investigating what caused the crash. But CHP does not believe drugs or alcohol were involved.
