Richard Melendez -- a suspected gang member -- is now in the Fresno County Jail on one murder charge and three counts of attempted murder. He is accused of opening fire on an occupied car at Ashlan and Marks avenues.
Bryan Flores, 18, was critically injured in the shooting and died the next day.
Police arrested Melendez at a home on Nevada Avenue near Maple Avenue late Friday night. Officers say they also found a high-powered rifle that belonged to the 20-year-old at a different relative's house.
