Police identify 29-year-old man killed in southwest Fresno drive-by shooting

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno police have identified the man who was killed in a drive-by shooting in southwest Fresno as 29-year-old Willie Lee Barnes.

On Tuesday evening, officers to the scene of the shooting near the intersection of Tupman and George, but they couldn't find the victim. Shortly after, they were notified about a man with a gunshot wound who just arrived at Community Regional Medical Center.

Barnes died at the hospital.

Homicide detectives are searching for the suspect who opened fire at Barnes. Investigators believe they were driving a light-colored sedan.

A motive for the shooting has not been released, but detectives have not ruled out the possibility of it being gang-related.
