House explosion in suburban Pittsburgh

PLUM, Pa. - March 5, 2008 The explosion happened around 1:40 p.m. Wednesday in Plum and several homes are damaged.

TV images show one destroyed house and a car with a flattened roof and blown-out windows.

One person was taken to Mercy Hospital, but a spokeswoman couldn't disclose any information.

A child was taken to Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, but a spokesman has no information.

Plum is about 15 miles east of Pittsburgh.
