The LAPD has announced the identity of the victim from Sunday's shooting on the 101 Freeway in Sherman Oaks. The man has been identified as 20-year-old Marlon Gordillo Sical of Los Angeles. He was shot to death off the 101 Freeway Sunday morning just east of the Van Nuys Boulevard exit.
The freeway was closed to traffic for hours as CHP officers investigated the scene. They had received 911 calls of a rollover crash on the eastbound 101 just east of Van Nuys Blvd.
When firefighters approached the sedan they found the driver with a gunshot wound to the head. The victim died a short time later at the hospital.
Police think he may have been shot on a surface street near the 101 Freeway, then jump onto the freeway to possibly escape his shooter. The investigation continues as authorities work on the details.
So far, there are no suspects in custody. The LAPD is asking for the public's help in finding any information leading to a suspect composite or an arrest. If you have any information regarding the shooting, you're asked to call the LAPD at (877) 529-3855.
Meanwhile, in Long Beach, a motorist is recovering after he was shot in the torso on the 710 Freeway. The incident happened Saturday night on the northbound lanes near the Del Amo Boulevard exit.
The victim told authorities he thought the shooting was the result of a road rage incident. He says someone in another car shot at him after some sort of argument.
The man managed to drive off the freeway and call for help. He is expected to recover.

The two freeway shootings do not appear to be related, but authorities are still searching for suspects in both cases.
