South Valley Veterans Parade

11/8/2008 Tulare, CA, USA High school bands marched through downtown to honor military service. The parade also included old tanks, classic uniforms, and flyovers by three different types of military aircraft.

Veterans say it's important to hold events like this all over the country, especially on this Veterans Day weekend. Ray Smith, Army Veteran, says "This country needs to thank the people that are over there now, for our freedom. We got the right to come here and wave our flags."

The grand marshal of today's parade was 90-year-old Manuel Toledo from Tulare. He's a decorated World War II veteran.
