Investigators now claim it appears 67-year-old Charles Dixon shot his 67-year-old wife Mary Dixon, and then shot himself.
Family friends said Mary Dixon once served as a Plainsburg school board member and Charlie Dixon worked for Merced County Waste Management before he retired.
Both grew up in Plainsburg and were widely known in the small community.
