Bennett said as the new chief, he faces a tough road ahead. "I can tell you based on the budget numbers we're seeing right now we will not be able to maintain our service levels and so as the new chief, the first thing I get to do is cut service levels and I'm not happy about that."
Bennett said he has no plans for any layoffs within the department, but he won't know for sure until mid-June.
