Visalia Officers Struck by Auto Theft Suspects

An attempt to catch two suspects in a stolen car took a frightening turn Wednesday night when two officers were struck by the vehicle. It all started at a Mc Donald's at Ben Maddox and Noble in Visalia, when members of a south valley auto theft task force tried to arrest two suspects in a stolen truck. The driver tried to drive away, backing into the officer's unmarked car and hitting two officers before speeding out of the shopping center.                   |   Watch Video Above for Extended Coverage   |

The suspect then entered the freeway, going the wrong way on Highway 198 before it exited on Mooney Boulevard. Police lost sight of them, but a tip led them to a neighborhood at Central and Burrell. They found the suspects in the backyard of a home after a massive search involving a helicopter, a K-9 officer, and going door to door.
