One employee said it was sad to a see the end of a program that's helped so many people.
Alexa Barca, Recreation Leader said "To have the drop in sports here in the arena, from soccer to floor ball, to hockey, to basketball, has been amazing. Just to see the different types of people from the community and how it has a positive impact, so they have somewhere to go is really amazing. "
Even though the Rec. center is closed, the City is working with nonprofit groups and volunteers to keep as many recreation programs as possible.
