Seventy-five percent of the funds raised by Komen's Central Valley Affiliate stay in Fresno County to support local breast health education, breast cancer screening and treatment programs. In addition to raising funds to fight breast cancer, the Komen Central Valley Race for the Cure® promotes awareness, celebrates breast cancer survivorship, and honors those who have lost their battle with the disease.
The Komen Central Valley Race for the Cure features a USA Track & Field (USATF) 5k certified course and will include a men's and women's timed 5K run, a co-ed 5K and 1-mile walk and a Kids for the Cure® event. The men's 5K run begins at 7:30 a.m. and the women's at 8:00 a.m., then the co-ed walk at 11 a.m. in front of the Satellite Student Union off of Barstow and Maple avenues. The Survivor Recognition Ceremony begins at 9:30 a.m.
In-person registration is available at Break the Barriers at Cedar and Teague from 11am - 7 pm on Thursday and 11am - 6pm on Friday. The cost is $25 for adults and $12 for children 12 and under. Participants can also register on race day for $30 at the Fresno State Satellite Student Union starting at 6:30am.
