Federally Grown Marijuana is Best for Chronic Pain

Fresno, CA The report was released by the state's Medical Marijuana Research Facility. It said marijuana is a promising treatment for chronic pain. But the medical research is based solely on marijuana grown by the Federal Government, and not the kinds of marijuana typically available to California's medical marijuana users.

In 1996 state lawmakers authorized the creation of a Center for Medical Cannabis Research -- to determine the therapeutic benefits of smoking pot. But the only legal source for researchers is a federally-managed pot farm in Mississippi.
