The 16th Annual North American Pole Vault Championships will take place at the Farmer's Market.
The competition attracts some of the world's best vaulters. Many of them are vying for a spot on the 2012 Olympics team.
Brandon Estrada will be among this year's participants. He was a pole vaulter at U.S.C. and the son of actor Erik Estrada.
Last year, about 10,000 people came out to watch the competition. The pole vault championships will take place at fourth and Pollasky Friday night.
