The fire broke out shortly after 2 p.m. near Thousand Oaks and has burned an estimated 20 acres so far.
Helicopters are making water drops while ground teams work in triple digit temperatures to help stamp out the flames.
At this point, no evacuations have been ordered.
A bulldozer has also been making progress, cutting open space between the flames and brush.
This is just one of several small fires to break out Monday as temperatures climb above 110 degrees in some areas.
