Boeing is testing new 747 planes at FYI

FRESNO, Calif.

Boeing's 747-8 freight airplane and a Boeing 747-4 passenger jet will take-off and make landings at Fresno-Yosemite Airport Monday. They're the newest model of airplanes in the Boeing 747 family.

Fresno-Yosemite Airport was selected because of the flat terrain and favorable clear weather conditions for the flights. The new planes will be delivered to airlines for international service starting next year.

The flight testing schedule is anticipated to continue over the next couple of months, with the actual flight days to be determined by weather and flight-test program constraints.
