Becky Bataille is facing several charges after authorities say she physically assaulted a coach who cut her daughter from the varsity team.
Los Angeles County sheriff's detectives say the 52-year old mother hit the coach several times in the face. Administrators from Hart High School in Newhall have not commented on the case.
But other students there say they were shocked by the attack. "I think it's completely out of control for a parent would do that maybe if the daughter had a lot at stake for making the soccer team but nothing should lead to violence," Josh Winklhofer said.
Deputies say Bataille was booked for battery on a school official, which is a felony. She's since been released on a $60,000 bail.
