The man was discovered hiding under specially made buckets in the bed of a truck.
Officers in San Diego County found several five-gallon paint buckets strapped together in the back of the truck, with various painting and construction items inside, such as paint rollers and paper towels.
The man in the truck bed will be returned to Mexico and the driver of the vehicle was arrested.
He now faces federal felony charges for human smuggling.
