Missing skier at China Peak has been found dead

FRESNO, Calif.

The Fresno County Sheriff's Department told Action News that 29-year-old Eli Shelby went skiing at the China Peak Resort Monday.

A friend of Shelby's last saw him at around 3:30 in the afternoon.

Deputies say Shelby did not return to his vehicle in the China Peak parking lot when the resort closed for the day.

Cohee said Shelby's body was discovered by Sheriff's Search and Rescue teams. The coroner is enroute to the resort to recover the body.

20 deputies and volunteers were involved in the search for Shelby.
