Construction worker struck on HWY 43 near Kingsburg

FRESNO, Calif.

The man injured works for a company called Pavement Recycling Systems, based out of Southern California.

A company spokesperson she says she cannot confirm the details of what happened in the accident or the extent of injuries. She would only say that the man was flown to the hospital.

According to Caltrans, the construction worker may have been run over by a water tanker. Caltrans says the truck may have backed over the man.

At this time we're not sure of the extent of his injuries.

Once emergency workers cleared the accident scene, construction on Highway 43 resumed as normal.

This stretch of Highway 43 from Highway 99 to the Fresno County line is being repaved, so there are traffic delays because of the construction work.
