Officers were called to a disturbance at market street near Golden State around 6:30 p.m. Sunday where witnesses reported a woman was fighting with someone near a vehicle.
When officers arrived a woman was found unresponsive in the roadway. She was pronounced dead at Community Regional Medical Center.
Police are calling the death suspicious -- and detectives are interviewing a few individuals. They shut down a part of market street for several hours as they conducted their investigation.
