Witnesses say the man in his early thirties was standing near the basketball court when two teenage boys came up to him and one pulled out a gun and opened fire.
The teens got away and despite the large crowd at the park, police say they're having a tough time getting information. "The park was full when I got here there were still well over 250 to 300 people here and that's the part that's a little disheartening. Because our initial officers that arrived here tried to find out what happened and they didn't get much cooperation from too many people," Lt. Anthony Martinez said.
The shooting victim was taken to the hospital but is expected to be okay.
