Labu, our male Sumatran orangutan, was born on October 31, 2010 to mother, Sara, and father, Busar. He was the first of two orangutan offspring born at Fresno Chaffee Zoo last year. Since he was born on Halloween, he was named Labu which means "pumpkin" in Indonesian. Can you believe he's 1 year old already?
Join us this Saturday, October 29, 2011 as we celebrate his birthday.
The first 250 children into the Zoo on Saturday morning will receive a FREE birthday party hat (you can also bring your own!) and join us at Bonner Station (the orangutan habit) at 10:00 am and watch he and his mother enjoy "gourd'geous enrichment treats made special by the ones who care for them, their keepers! Wish him a happy birthday and enjoy birthday cake generously donated by Costco (West Fresno).
