Fresno traffic officers were stopping drivers who followed the speed limit, used their turn signals correctly and had their safety belts on.
Those drivers were given Chevron gas cards worth $50.00 each. The gas cards were sponsored by Allstate insurance for Fresno's top-rank as California's biggest city with safe drivers.
In the past eight years, fatal traffic collisions have decreased by 47%, a statistic officers attribute to drivers who use more caution on the roads.
