South Valley school holding recycling contest

FRESNO, Calif.

Students at Visalia's Valley Life Charter School are holding a contest to see who can bring the most recyclables during a two-week period.

The students are helping sick children and going green all at the same time.

Each classroom at the school is competing against each other to see who can bring in the most recyclables.

Once all the aluminum cans and plastic bottles are collected, Community Services and Employment Training, or CSET, will be recycling all the materials and the money made will be donated to Saint Jude's Childrens Hospital.

Members of the public are also encouraged to stop by Valley Life Charter and pitch in.

The contest ends on February 10.
