The collision happened just before 2 a.m. on Barstow and Karen. Authorities say it didn't take them long to pull the driver out of the vehicle. But it took them more than an hour and a half to free the passenger because they had to cut the roof off and ultimately destroy the car.
Police are not sure if the driver or the passenger were using their seat belts. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
