The shooting happened in the alley behind Chic's Groceries in south Dos Palos Thursday night.
Detectives say someone shot the fifteen-year-old victim three times in the upper body -- and the fourteen-year-old once in the groin. Both are expected to survive.
One man who lives near the crime scene says he and his wife and children dropped to the ground in their living room after hearing the shots.
"When I heard the gunshots I did look at my wife and said it is time to move," Herbert Sanders told Action News. "If one of those bullets would have come through there and hit my children or my dog in my yard or my babies, what would I have done?"
Detectives believe the shooting involves gangs. They're now following leads and trying to identify suspects.
