Early drug intervention may help Multiple Sclerosis patients

FRESNO, Calif.

MS is an auto-immune disease that attacks the brain and spinal cord. Patients suffer attacks that impact muscles, vision, and even personality.

New research by the American Academy of Neurology finds that early use of a new drug could slow the progression of the disease. The drug is called Interferon Beta 1A.

In a three-year trial patients who were given the drug were less likely to develop late-stage MS.
