Deputies arrested /*Juan Albarran*/ at a home on Krafft Road in Planada Thursday Night.
The victim has been identified as 44-year-old /*Jose Vera*/. Authorities found him in an alley behind Broadway Avenue near Cabrillo Street, not far from Planada Elementary School.
Detectives say the two men had been drinking together when they got into an argument.
Merced County Sheriff Mark Pazin said, "These were a group of men that had gotten together, alcohol is probably a contributing factor to the argument, to the fight and then to the death."
Albarran is being held without bail at the Merced County jail.
