Fresno Boys and Girls Club receives healthy eating grant

FRESNO, Calif.

Action News was in Central Fresno when the Fresno Boys and Girls Club was given a $10 thousand check, by Anthem Blue Cross Friday afternoon.

It's part of a national grant that's meant to improve the health of children by teaching about healthy relationships, increasing physical activity and encouraging healthier eating.

Officials with the Boys and Girls Club say this will help with their Healthy Habits program.

"They learn to make healthy food choices on their own, healthy snacks they can make on their own, make some decisions in the house, healthy habits they'd like to have in the home," Jonquisha Damon, Boys & Girls Club Director of Operations, said.

A celebration wouldn't be complete without delicious snacks. After the check presentation, kids were able to enjoy healthy goodies.
