Superintendent of Schools Larry Powell received a $25 thousand check from Community Connection, which helps schools raise money.
The fundraising program involves a pre-paid gift card. People in the community can purchase the cards in amounts of $50 to $500.
The giftcards can then be used at participating local and national retailers and a percentage of those sales is returned to fresno county schools.
