Authorities say the chase started last night shortly after 11 p.m. when they tried to pull over a stolen vehicle in the area of Ashlan and Palm in Central Fresno.
The driver did not stop and the pursuit began.
It later came to an end in the area of McKinley and Highway 99 in West Central Fresno.
Authorities say the chase lasted a couple of minutes, reaching speeds of up to 70 miles per hour at some points.
The driver, who's been identified as 37-year-old John Hansson, ended up crashing into the metal gate of a driveway.
Hansson was taken into custody, accused of possession of a stolen vehicle, drugs, and for violating his parole. The passenger was not expected to face any charges.
