The Human Race runs though Fresno for charity

FRESNO, Calif.

Non-profit agencies set up 32 booths at Eaton Plaza after the 5k and 10k runs. Participants were able to pick which of the charities they wanted to raise money before the race.

One popular booth was the Animal Compassion Team, which brought several adorable dogs in hopes of finding them good homes. Other agencies included the Marjoree Mason Center, Fresno Arts Council, and Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Central California.

"Everything about this event is local. We have local food in our food trucks, local entertainment and artists, and we're just really excited to have brought this event to Fresno," said Cathy Caples with Hands On Central California.

The Human Race is a community service event in honor of the 9-11 National Day of Service and Remembrance.
