Fresno murder case halts; man mentally incompetent

The murder case against a Fresno man accused of killing his grandmother came to a halt Thursday when he was found mentally incompetent.

Travis Fendley was in court back in December. Three doctors have found him incompetent to help in his own defense.

He'll now be sent to a state mental hospital. Fendley's family has told Action News he was diagnosed with mental illness four years ago.

Fendley has confessed to killing Joyce Frazier, but his attorney says his mental state throws that confession into question.
