Firefighters are on the scene of an apartment fire. The fire started about just after 5 a.m. at the Villa Primavera apartments on Maple near Shields.
Fresno fire officials said the fire destroyed a downstairs apartment and damaged the unit above before they could get it under control.
Twelve people in those two units have been displaced by the fire. The cause is under investigation.
