Firefighters save pets from fire on Armstrong near Nees

Firefighters saved several pets from a burning home in Fresno County Saturday.

A battalion chief said the owner was gone, but four dogs and three cats were inside the house on Armstrong near Nees when the flames started. One firefighter gave a cat oxygen, and she is expected to be okay.

Another one is cat still missing. Officials believe the fire started in kitchen area. Cal Fire crews rushed to the scene from their station which was less than a mile away.

Firefighters were quickly able to stop the flames from spreading. The exact cause remains under investigation.
