Radanovich has been sizing up his chances for a candidacy since last fall. In a letter going out on Friday to his supporters, Radanovich explains his decision not to run. Instead, the former congressman plans to work on establishing his plan called Restore California throughout the state.
Restore California focuses on strengthening the family and reducing unwed pregnancy and divorce without government assistance.
Radanovich would have been the third Republican in the race. Assemblyman Tim Donnelly and former U.S. Treasury official Neel Kashkari are challenging Gov. Jerry Brown.
