Charlotte's Bakery closes its doors in Fresno
A Tower District favorite is now officially closed for business.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A Tower District favorite is now officially closed for business. Charlotte's Bakery in Central Fresno served up its last sandwiches and pastries on Friday afternoon.

People waited as early as 9:30 a.m. to get their last taste, and because there was such a rush, they ran out of food early into the day.

Owners of the business have decided to close after nearly 10 years in business to go into semi-retirement. It's been an emotional few weeks for the owners and employees of the shop.

"We are so overwhelmed by the love that we've received in the last few weeks, especially when everyone found out that we were closing, and we're gonna miss everybody very much," said Susan Rocha, owner of Charlotte's Bakery.

Owners say they are thankful for all of the support they've received over the years, but are reminding customers they will be at the farmers market at Blackstone and Shaw avenues selling gluten-free baked goods beginning in June.
