Clovis Unified chooses new Superintendent

CLOVIS, Calif. (KFSN) -- Clovis Unified School District has selected its next Superintendent. The district's new superintendent is Irish born Dr. Eimear O'Farrell.

O' Farrell takes the place of Dr. Janet Young who is retiring at the end of June. The new superintendent began teaching in Clovis in 1993.

"I thought I was going to be staying for a short while and really when I started working in Clovis Unified as a teacher I really thought about moving my career to Clovis. After a couple of years I decided to make this my home."

Dr. O'Farrell said she plans to continue the same vision Clovis Unified has had since the beginning, to emphasize the culture and standards the district has had for 57 years.
