1 person dead 3 critically injured in DUI crash in Stratford

STRATFORD, Calif. (KFSN) -- The CHP said three people are fighting for their lives in the hospital and another person is dead after a drunk driving accident. It happened just before 5:00 p.m. in the city of Stratford.

Authorities said 20-year-old Victor Nava was driving while drunk and smashed head-on into a US Forest Service truck.

According to the CHP, one of Nava's passengers died immediately. Nava and two of his other passengers are in the hospital and are critically injured.

The driver of the US Forest Service truck was not hurt.

Nava will be arrested for felonyDUI after he's released from the hospital.
