Visalia USD students head Back to School

VISALIA, Calif. (KFSN) -- Another group of students are up early this morning for their first day back to school.

More than 32 thousand students are headed back to school in Visalia. The district has 26 elementary schools including this year's opening of Riverway Elementary and Global Learning Charter.

Global Learning Charter is the district's first K-6 charter school. Lesson plans will include community service, foreign language, and for some, video production.

Another group of students are up early this morning for their first day back to school.

Riverway Elementary boasts the latest technology when it comes to teaching students and even has options for outdoor learning.

This will also be the second year of district wide all-day kindergarten after a successful year of implementation. They are also expanding their preschool program to service more students and are a growing district, especially on the northwest side.
