Helicopter helps Fresno police catch robbery suspect

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- An armed robbery suspect was booked into jail after Fresno police used their helicopter to catch him.

Authorities arrested Gentry Cooper, 21, just before 11 p.m. Friday. They say he stole a bottle of liquor from a store at Kings Canyon Road and Clovis Avenue in Southeast Fresno, and then threatened to shoot a loss prevention officer who tried to stop him.

The victim ran for safety and called 911 while the suspect ran from the scene. A police helicopter guided officers on the ground, who took Cooper into custody.
