Fresno bank robbery suspect escapes on FAX bus, witnesses say

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno police are asking for the public's help in finding a man who robbed a bank. The robbery happened at the Westamerica bank at Tulare and O streets in Downtown Fresno just before 11 a.m. Monday.



Officers say the suspect walked into the bank and demanded money from a teller. They say he got away with as much as $1,000. Several witnesses said the man got on a bus, but after searching several buses in the area, he was not found.



The suspect is described as being a man in his mid-40s, 6'0" to 6'3" tall, with a shaved head and a medium to heavy build. He was last seen wearing a gray cardigan-type sweater, black pants and a beige baseball hat.
