FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Fresno Unified School Board has approved the new contract agreement between the teachers union and the school district.
Both sides reached the deal last month averting a teacher strike. The agreement includes an 8.5-percent salary increase, better health care benefits, and the creation of a special education committee.
The decision by the school board comes two days after about 2,000 employees voted to approve the deal.
