MAA fighter Tito Ortiz speaks out about 'Mayhem' standoff, arrest

LOS ANGELES -- Mixed Martial Arts fighter Tito Ortiz is speaking out after another well-known fighter was arrested in Mission Viejo.

Jason "Mayhem" Miller was arrested on Thursday in connection to alleged domestic violence and stalking.

But when deputies arrived at his home to take him into custody, the 33-year-old fighter ran back inside and refused to come out. This led to a tense hours-long standoff, which Miller described in detail on his Twitter account. It all ended peacefully when he finally surrendered.

Fellow fighter Ortiz talked to "Good Morning America" about the arrest.

"It just brings a bad light into MMA in general. Every one of the fighters that do compete is a true gentleman. At one time, Jason was a true gentleman, and you know, hopefully he learns from his mistakes," Ortiz said.

Miller was arrested on an outstanding felony arrest warrant for domestic violence, stalking and violation of a court order, as well as obstructing/delaying a peace officer resulting from Thursday's incident. He was last due in court Sept. 8 for a pretrial hearing, but he was declared a fugitive and a warrant for his arrest was issued.

Deputies say they've had several run-ins with Miller in the past. In 2012 he was found naked inside a Mission Viejo church. He was accused of vandalism, but the charges were dismissed.
