Former Clovis High Star realizing her Olympic dreams

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Former Clovis High star and Oregon Duck Jenna Prandini made the Women's USA 200 Meter team by the smallest of margins, .01 seconds to be exact. Prandini finished 3rd, while fellow Oregon Duck and former College of the Sequoias star Deajah Stevens placed 2nd to make the United States Olympic team.

"I'm speechless, it hasn't hit me yet, I'm, so happy it's exciting, there's so many emotions at one time, I'm just taking it all in," said Stevens.

"I've dreamt about going to the Olympics ever since I was a little girl to make it here is a dream come true and now that I'm on the team I just want to go out and compete and represent the United States as best I can and come away with a medal," added Prandini.

Prandini was among the athletes who trained just outside of Houston last week for final preparations.

"These veterans have a lot of experience and they take us under their wings and show us the ropes of the course and make sure we are in good hands and we are out there and prepared when we step on that line," said Prandini.

With a chance to compete on the world's biggest stage.

"I've just seen pictures of Brazil and it looks beautiful. I'm really excited to go there. Everyone wants to be able to go to the Olympics and for me it's a dream come true, so I just couldn't be more excited to head to Brazil," Prandini said.
