MENDOTA, Calif. (KFSN) -- The fire started around 6:15 a.m. on Wednesday on 10th Street at Pucheu Street in Mendota.

Fresno County Fire said when they arrived the house was fully engulfed. Fire crews also had electrical challenges while trying to put out the flames. "The power lines cause a problem when basically, it's wet out, so anything that's metal becomes energized. And actually, the ground being moist causes some of the power to transfer into the ground. A couple of firefighters were able to sense kind of a tingling in the mud -- a good indicator for us that we are dealing with a larger amount of electricity than normal," said Chris Bump, Battalion Chief with Fresno County Fire.

No word yet on the total cost of damages. No one was injured in the fire.
