Evacuations called in Fresno County due to grass fire

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- UPDATE: Evacuation orders have been lifted.

Mandatory evacuations were called for Fresno County residents Friday due to a grass fire, authorities said.

Fresno County Cal Fire said the fire broke out near Fowler and East Copper Avenues, north of Clovis, around 6 p.m. and the blaze is threatening several buildings. The fire has burned eight acres so far, authorities said.

Fowler Avenue is closed from Behymer to International Avenues while crews work to contain the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
